PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

August 31, 2019

Dear Marshall School Families,

In just a few short days, the doors will open for the 2019-20 school year! Welcome to Marshall School! We hope you had an enjoyable summer. We are eager to see our students on the first day of school, Thursday, September 5th.

Excitement is in the air and I’m sure you’re looking forward to bringing your children to school. Don’t forget to park on the street. All spaces in the school parking lots are assigned to our staff members.

In this packet, you will see your children’s class assignments for this school year. Please know that a lot of thought went into determining placement for students and teachers are ready to greet them!

The school day begins at 8:45 AM. Teachers will pick up students at 8:45 on the blacktop behind the building. On the back of this letter, you will find line-up locations for each teacher. Please ensure that your children are in the correct numbered location and do remain with them until they are picked up. Be certain that children don’t stand directly on the numbers; we don’t want numbers blocked because all children need to be able to see them to find their correct spots. After your child is lined up, please stand on the grass away from the blacktop to ensure there is room for every child as they prepare to transition into the building. Nonetheless, have your cameras handy to snap pictures of the precious first day of school! We assure you that these pictures will give you joy many years from now.

After the students enter the building with their teachers, on the first day only, parents will be invited in as a group to get a last glimpse of children in their classrooms. At or near 9:00 AM, an announcement will be made inviting parents to join the PTA for the first day of school coffee. At that time, you may either go to the cafetorium for coffee or vacate the building.

Our teachers have a full day of getting to know you activities, fun, and learning prepared. Please be on time to pick up children when they are dismissed promptly at 3:15 PM so you can hear about their day!
