Calendar alert 🚨 — the Annual Marshall School 5K is happening on Sunday, April 26, 2026, and you’re invited!

 

This beloved community tradition is back, bringing together students, staff, families, and neighbors for a run/walk that begins and ends in Grove Park. Whether you’re chasing a personal record or strolling with a coffee in hand, this event is for everyone.

 

✨What to expect:

 

  • A 1-Mile Fun Run (perfect for younger runners and enthusiastic sprinters!)
  • The full 5K run/walk through Montrose Park 
  • Tons of school spirit
  • A morning that builds confidence, resilience, and connection
  • Fundraising support for our PTA

 

The Marshall 5K is more than a race — it’s a celebration of teamwork, healthy habits, and showing our kids what it means to show up for each other.

Upcoming School Closure

In observance of Eid, SOMSD schools are closed on Friday, March 20.  Eid Mubarak to all who celebrate! 

 

SOMA Swish 

It’s game time! Tickets for SOMA Swish go on sale Monday, March 16. Look for an email that day, and a flyer in your Owl’s backpack next week. This event is expected to sell out!

 

On Sunday, April 19, at 5:00 pm, our beloved Marshall teachers and staff will take on Seth Boyden School in an epic showdown at the Columbia High School gym. This is one of our most fun, high-energy community events of the year — full of school spirit, friendly rivalry, and unforgettable moments your kids will be talking about long after the final buzzer.

 

Gaga Pit Volunteers Needed!

Exciting news! The PTA has purchased the materials for a Gaga Pit, and we're hoping to have it ready for our little Owls soon. Here's where you come in - we need volunteers to assemble the Gaga Pit. If interested, please indicate here all times that you would be available to assist. Thank you!
